Military spouses attend networking seminars
Army Wife Network, LLC, a core team of Army wives, and Corvias Military Living hosted two networking seminars on, April 3 and 4.
Almost 200 military spouses attended the energetic Field Exercises™: Battle Buddies seminars held at the Nijmegen/Cherbourg Community Center.
Each four-hour seminar focused on attendees connecting, sharing support and enjoying camaraderie. Challenges and opportunities associated with military life were at the forefront of the events’ discussions. Most attendees said they left the event feeling empowered and rejuvenated.
“I just moved back to Fort Bragg and everyone who I knew the first time I was here has left,” said Suzie Mullins, who lives in Spring Lake, N.C. “So, I like the networking aspect of the event.”
Kari Schaffer, who lives in Hammond Hills with her husband Spc. Nicholas Schaffer, said she was especially grateful to attend the event. “This has really taught me that you can have friends from all walks of life. It’s great how the event gets people together to talk.”
Several of the Army Wife Network sponsors, such as USAA, AAFES, and Tricare Met Life, discussed their organizations and services with event attendees.
“I didn’t know much about Tricare Met Life until today,” said Linden Oaks resident Raven Branch, wife of Spc. Keith Branch. “It was very helpful.”
The events were the first Corvias-sponsored 2014 Field Exercises™: Battle Buddies seminar. The seminars will also be held at Fort Meade, md. and Fort Sill, Okla. later this year.
